Tephromela atra –Thallus light to medium grey and often warty. Usually fertile with large cups (up to 3mm.diam) with a black central disc surrounded by light grey contorted margin, resembling black jam tarts. Very common on well lit siliceous rocks K+yellow UV+ ice blue. (cf. similar Lecanora gangaleoides has smaller neater cups and does not fluoresce under UV light).
